I got this product for my twins when they were nine months old. They are now almost one y/o and no problems other than what I list below. Bought it from Aosome directly because they include an additional spare parts kit that has two sides and a gate (total of 8+3 panels). Glad, that I got it, because I got one broken panel and two cracked bases. When I contacted the company via email they immediately sent replacement parts without asking for a photo or any proof. The new panel came quickly but was of inferior quality - crooked wood, parts pieced together from many smaller pieces of wood. I have it as a spare and am using eight sides and two gates for a total of 10 panels. I spent two evenings with sandpaper to ensure that the babies will not get splinters. Some panels really needed sanding.
The gates are very easy for the babies to open, so you have to either put something to secure the latch on top or watch the babies all the time. I still have not had time to improve on this poor design.
Otherwise, it is a very good-looking playpen, easy to assemble and safe for the babies. We put puzzle mats from One Step Ahead on the floor - these are absolutely great!

I purchased the Aosom Baby Wooden Playpen for my two jack russell pets. They needed to be separated and this product works great. Everyone including the dogs now get a good nights sleep every night!!!! I highly recommend this product.

I bought this for my almost 1 year old twin grandsons so they would have a safe place to play (they have 2, 3 and 6 year old brothers:) My son in law was able to put it up without any problems and you can move each section to get the shape you want.

The wood was in fine condition and I am very happy with it. The price is great.

This wooden playpen looked like exactly what we hoped for, nice natural unfinished wood, smoothly sanded, and capable of enclosing a large area. We have twins that turned 7 months old when we bought this (directly from the manufacturer, through ebay). We didn't set it up for two weeks, because we were waiting for a foam mat that we ordered to put under this, since we have hard wood floors. When we set it up, I was a little concerned about the hardware supplied-big bolts, half of which seemed to have nothing to connect into, but I re-read the directions, and it seemed to be stable enough. Within a couple weeks, the gate broke at one of the bases, where it is screwed into the little octagon shaped wood sections. Then, a second one broke at the same spot, at the end, where the pieces connect. I found one of the screws that had come out of the top piece, and soon, more screws were coming out-this was an amazingly poorly thought out mechanism for securing these panels together, and hazardous too. We took it down figuring that this was not helping us keep our babies safe at all. I read on the Aosom website that returns had to be made within 30 days, so I'm out of luck. We bought the 8 section playpen, plus an extra gate and two extra panels, so I spent around $135 with free shipping. NOT a good deal at all. Please don't buy this!

The playpen is much larger than I expected, this is GREAT since my son LOVES to move. In fact, my son, my husband, myself, AND my dog all fit in there once while playing with my son. As for it being sturdy...I'd give it a 3 out of 5. It doesn't move around, but then again we have it sitting on carpet. BUT the one we got has cracks in the wood where the door hinge is, so it looks like its just a matter of time before the door rips off with my son (who loves cruising around using the walls for support) attached. Other than ours coming with some split wood at the door hinge, I would also suggest finding some way to reinforce the strength of the door. My son is 21 lbs and when he stands up against it (while its locked) it bends as if he's going to rip it right out. (Which worries me since as I mentioned ours arrived with cracks already at the hinges.) Don't get me wrong though if we had a better door it would be perfect.
